 PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE : ING


En las oraciones afirmativas, el present  continuous se forma colocando el verbo to be después del pronombre y añadiendo el verbo principal con la terminación final -ing.



SPELLING RULES:


•Verbs that end ine (make write etc bind make → making write writing drive driving

Vowels:  a b c d e

Consonants:  b c d f g h j k l m n p q r s t v w y

Sometimes a word ends in a vowel + a consonant. For example get, run, swim Before auding-ing the consonant at the end is "doubled" get→geming run→ running swim→ zimming

Do NOT double the letter if the word ends in two consonants.
help → helping → talk  talking   work→ working 

Do NOT double the letter if the word enda in two vowate + a consonant.

Look → looking   read  reading   speak → speaking

Do NOT double the letter if the word has two or more syllables and the last part not stressed. 

Visit VIS-it first part is stressed) → visiting bit
begin  be-GIN (last part is stressed) → beginning

Do NOT double the letter if the word ends un -Y or -W. 
buy → buying    enjoy → enjoying   snow → snowing 


EXAMPLE:_
★Change the senteces to their negative and interogative from:

1- they are working now.
  A: are they working now ?
  B: yes, they are / no, they aren't
    - they are not working now. 

2- she Is playing volleyball.
  A: Is she playing volleyball ?
  B: yes, is she / no, is she
    - she Is not playing volleyball.

3- the cats are sleeping on the sofa.
  A: are the cats sleeping on the sofa
  B: yes, are they cats / no, are the cats
    - the cats are not sleeping on the sofa.
